Lilypie 4th Birthday Ticker

Quotable Quotes from Xavier

While Curtis and I were in Las Vegas, Xavier stayed with his Grandmama and Granddaddy and his Mema.

The first day we were gone, Xavier was playing with his Grandmama. The Browns have an old gumball machine in their entryway, and Xavier wanted to play with the "balls" that were inside. Being quite the sorter, Xavier started organizing the gumballs.

He looked at a group of them and said, "Grandmama, those colorful balls make a triangle."

So smart!

A Walk on the Nature Trail

Our neighborhood has a beautiful nature trail behind it, and we had yet to explore it since before last summer. Xavier loves to walk in the woods, so when Curtis got home early on Monday, I thought we should check it out. Xavier did so well, doing everything all by himself. He carried a huge stick with him through the entire hour we were back there. He didn't get tired until we were off of the trail and on some back roads (and huge HILLS) in the neighborhood.

My boys, walking across one of the bridges along the trail.

There is a creek that follows most of the trail, and Xavier just loved to watch it.

It was a beautiful day, blue skies and just enough of a chill in the air.

Xavier had a good time "leading the way".

He refused my help when walking over this little "bridge".

Cute, cute, cute . . .

Me with my favorite little man, by the creek.

Xavier wanted to stand on this log by himself - so there you have it!

Xavier also requested that I take his picture in the big hole (though it's hard to tell it's a hole), but right at that moment, a family and their two dogs walked by, so Xavier got distracted.
