Today is my baby's 2nd birthday . . . A happy, yet sad day for him mama. I cannot get over how fast the time goes by.
This morning, Xavier woke up quite excited talking about the inevitable "big truck" that he would get as one of his birthday presents. That is all he asked for. We opened a few presents and then went to IHOP for "special pancakes". Xavier eats pancakes virtually every morning for breakfast, but IHOP pancakes are special. He had a blast and ate more than his fair share. Then we came home and finished the present opening. Xavier got a huge fire truck (the "big truck"), lots of books, a tow truck, a personalized suitcase, and a travel tray for his carseat. He was quite excited about all of the gifts.
After we played for a while and read almost all of his new books, Xavier took a nice long nap. Unfortunately for him, after he woke up, we had to go to the doctor for his 2 year well check - but NO SHOTS! Nice birthday gift from Palmetto Peds - only a finger prick which was extremely easy. Xavier weighs only 25.6 pounds (20%), is 36 1/4 inches tall (91%) and his head circumference is 51 centimeters (94%). All in all, a very successful appointment.
After the doctor, we came home and played outside. We got a visit from "Ms. MaryAnn" from our neighborhood. She gave Xavier an Elmo book and an Elmo MP3 player. Xavier really liked it. I finished putting the "rocks" on Xavier's rock wall while Curtis finished up the gate on the tower of Xavier's playground. Xavier's friends from next door, Alison and Nathan, came over to play with Xavier in his sandbox. He loved that!
We ate dinner at Moe's (Xavier's favorite restaurant) and then went to Target to spend some birthday money from Granny. Xavier bought a tractor playset and a Hot Wheels 18 wheeler.
It was a great day and Xavier enjoyed every minute of it . . . mostly.
